One Team Trippaers Transport !

Small enough to be personal,
big enough to be flexible!

Small enough to be personal

We are and remain a family business where all employees know each other, can get in touch with each other and who always look for (and find!) solutions for any kind of problems encountered. This approach works, considering the fact that the average driver has been with us for 8 years and around 50% of our drivers have been with Trippaers for more than 10 years. The driver with the highest number of working years on the clock is Yavuz, who will have been with us for 25 years in 2023. Congratulations, Yavuz!

We take the same solution-driven approach to our customers, consistently endeavouring to seek out the best transport solution for them. If the customer so wishes, he can simply send us the transport orders. But we also make a lot of calls to discuss transport orders over the phone, find the right transport modes or to pass on updates. We place a premium on the personal touch.

Big enough to be flexible

We have a sufficiently large and varied fleet to act in response to the customer’s wishes. In practical terms, this means that a customer can request 1 transport run on day one and 15 transport runs the next, for instance. We always find a solution.

We are equally flexible in terms of the types of rolling stock we are able to commit: we have standard tractors, but should a customer require more space (interior height up to 3 metres), we are able to assign mega tractors or even (mega) plateau trailers. In addition, we also have lightweight trucks that enable us to ship more weight and we even have trucks fitted with a compressor and/or PTO Hydraulics that allow us to blow or tip bulk shipments into silos.

For our trailer fleet too, we have standard trailers, which may or may not be fitted with a coil duct or tailboard, as well as mega trailers, container chassis, tipping trailers or tipping/rotor chassis. Some customers one day require a tractor with a chassis and a tractor with a trailer the next. Not a problem for us! If the customer prefers us to drive their trailers/chassis, we are happy to do so. In that case, our services are referred to as Trucking instead of Transport.

Earthquake in Turkey and Syria

It feels like a while ago since an earthquake hit the eastern part of Turkey and the northern part of Syria on 6 February. But the country, and especially those affected, have yet to recover. We have several drivers with Turkish roots and we are keen to support them and their relatives. We have also supported various projects, as we believe that the relatives of our drivers out there are also part of our transport family over here.

Lady driver in the picture

To mark International Women's Day, less than a month ago, we are happy to train the spotlight on our lady driver. Nicole Wouters is currently our only female driver. Even though we are confident that female drivers are every bit as good as their male counterparts, we hardly ever see any. In our +35 years as a company, only five lady drivers have passed through the ranks. Nicole has stayed the course however, and has been with Trippaers Transport since 2010. We have come to know Nicole as a safe, always punctual and professional lady driver who keeps her truck in mint condition and expects the same of the trucks assigned to her.

Nicole, what kind of jobs are you currently handling and which do you like best of all?

I’m currently on single day rides with mega truck and mega trailers for a regular customer. Back in the old days, when I just started out, I mainly did automotive assignments, spending an entire week away from home. But I’ve switched back to single day assignments in the last 2 years for family reasons. The switch was tough going at the outset, but I got used to it. Now I’m happy with the situation and I get to go home every evening.

Are there differences between male and female drivers?

I can't really see any differences, not in terms of the work. A female driver is definitely as good as any male driver and is perfectly capable of doing the same job. A lot of the time, you struggle to find a ladies’ toilet at car parks. But after a while, you learn how to deal with the lack of facilities by using the toilet at the customer’s premises or by stopping off at the right car parks.

Why did you decide on Trippaers Transport at the time and why do you still enjoy working for the company?

As a result of a restructuring operation at my previous employer’s company, who also happened to be a Trippaers Transport customer, I was able to join Trippaers and continue in the same line of work. I also knew Trippaers as I had been taking my previous employer’s trailers to the Trippaers workshop for servicing.

A lot has changed over the years, especially in terms of the nature of the job, but definitely in a positive sense. I’m very pleased with the kind of assignments I am given: there’s lots of diversity, plenty of variety, all things I enjoy. There’s also a fun workplace vibe, I have nice colleagues who look out for each other.

Trippaers Transport is always on the look-out for motivated lorry drivers. Do you know of anyone who may want to join our team?

Please, tell us!

Genk, Monday, May 13, 2024 - This year again, Energy Platform Bolt will provide festivals and events in Belgium with green power using the world's largest mobile solar installation. With 104 solar panels packed in a 13.5-meter container, it can easily traverse the country. For this, Bolt relies on the personal approach of the family-owned company Trippaers in Genk. Before the summer begins and the solar installation changes location weekly, it is stationed at the Trippaers transport company's parking lot. This family business in Genk was engaged last summer by the energy platform Bolt to move the solar installation. The installation includes 104 solar panels and is stored in a 13.5-meter container, a piece of technology that Trippaers transports with great care. Each relocation of the solar container is done using HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), the most sustainable diesel fuel currently available. This results in up to 90% less CO₂ emissions per trip. Thus, Bolt saves CO₂ both during festivals and events and during transport. Last summer, as much as 40.45 tons of CO₂ were saved by replacing diesel generators with sustainable solutions. Quote: "We strongly believe in our responsibility to promote sustainability and make a positive impact on our environment and society. By collaborating with the energy platform Bolt, we can contribute to making festivals and events more sustainable.” - Jorg Trippaers Bolt’s Solar Container in Brief: - 170m² of solar panels - 104 solar panels - Rotates with the sun - Provides 150 to 200 kWh of power - Battery capacity of 55 kWh - Can be folded into a 13-meter-long container "In our search for new, efficient solutions, we came across the solar container of Marc and his family business Jans from Hoeselt, who built the largest mobile solar panel installation to provide green power to festivals and events,” says Pieterjan Verhaeghen, CEO and co-founder of Bolt. “With an area of 170 m² of solar panels, the installation can deliver about 150 to 200 kWh per day - depending on the weather. The generated power can also be stored in the built-in battery. Thus, we can provide power even in less favorable weather conditions.” ------- About Bolt Bolt is Belgium’s very first energy platform for local, green power. Through Bolt, consumers can choose a green energy producer from their neighborhood. The platform aims to accelerate the transition to green energy in Belgium. Bolt was founded in 2019 by Pieterjan Verhaeghen and Rens Vanhaute. Today, more than 208 local energy producers sell their solar, wind, water, or bio-energy through Bolt to over 75,000 people who consciously choose green regional power.
